Logan Utah Wedding Photographers
Oh how I love photographing silhouettes. Getting a great silhouette can be tricky, but oh so worth it when you get it right. It adds a little mystery to the photo. When it's an engaged couple like the one here, the right silhouette adds romance. It feels like we just happened upon this lovely couple who are deep in conversation.
When we take a couple out on an engagement session, of course we find out what and where they want. I've found that when a couple is really involved in the planning the session process, we get better pictures because it shows who they are. It also gives them an investment into the photos, which helps them to feel more connected to the photos. Certainly you want to feel a strong connection to your wedding photos. With this couple, we went to Bear Lake because they'd spent some time together there. The groom also had a family cabin right by Bear Lake, so it was a great memory for him since he'd spent a fair amount of time there as a child. They planned to use a few different props that fit their personalities too. It was a perfect session.
When a couple comes to us with an idea of what they want, we do our best to turn their ideas into a reality. But it's also nice when within those ideas, they give us some creative freedom as the photographer to get our vision too. Between the two couples (yes, we're a husband and wife photography team), we feel we get some amazing shots and better shots with all the different views.Location: Bear Lake Utah.
