Taking engagement photos in Logan Utah in the spring can be a little scary for a photographer. The weather is so unpredictable. On this particular day, it rained all morning. We often tell clients that rain is good right before a session because it makes the colors brighter and more vibrant. It's truly a beautiful experience to shoot right after a rainstorm. Fortunately, everything had dried out enough that we didn't have to worry about puddles everywhere. Unfortunately, it was still cold out. Lucky for me, this cute couple kept each other warm enough that we didn't have to worry about wearing winter coats through the session. In the end though, the after the rainstorm look really worked well for us. We had just the right amount of clouds in the sky and the sun peeked through to create a beautiful golden light for us. I truly love sessions where the stars align (or maybe the clouds align in this case!) to help us create a perfect backdrop for a sweet couple. While rain during a session isn't necessarily a problem, it also slows us down with carrying around umbrellas and lighting equipment. So we were grateful to have a little sunshine at this session. Beautiful evening!
